Traders = Suppliers

Every customer selects his/her own energy supplier (trader) and thus may influence the gas or electricity consumption price billed to him/her for. The electricity and gas supplier must hold a licence issued by ERO. The conditions for granting licenses are determined by the Energy Act.

You may find a list of licensed traders for trading in electricity and gas in the Licence section, information about license holders (files under the headings electricity trade, gas trade).

The distribution system operator (distributor) is determined by the local district. This is the market participant securing the transmission of electricity/gas to the end consumer.

The traditional gas distributors include GasNet, s.r.o., E.ON Distribuce, a.s. and Pražská plynárenská distribuce, a.s. Electricity distributors are ČEZ Distribuce, a.s., E.ON Distribuce, a.s. and PREdistribuce, a.s.
