The total amount of the congestion income from January 1st to December 31st 2020 to the transmission system operator, ČEPS, a.s., reached the total value of 40,04 mil. EUR.

All of the congestion income from the previous year was allocated in pursuant with Article 19(2) b) of Regulation (EU) 2019/943 of the European Parliament and Council of 5 June 2019 on the internal market for electricity, for covering the costs resulting from network investments that are relevant to reduce interconnector congestion.

The network tariff setting is not affected by the congestion income.

The Energy Regulatory Office verifies the congestion income value from January 1st to December 31st 2020 used for network tariff setting is in line with Regulation (EU) 2019/943 of the European Parliament and Council of 5 June 2019 on the internal market for electricity.
