The stakeholders of the joint Czech-Slovak-Hungarian Market Coupling Project performed workshops introducing newest information of the project to market participants.

The workshops took place in Budapest on the 8th June 2012 and in Brno on the 11th June 2012. There were more than 150 participants which showed the utmost importance of this market integration development for the relevant electricity markets.

The primary goal of the workshops was to make market participants familiar with the future harmonized operational details of the CZ-SK-HU MC in general, as well as, with national specifics of each involved market.

Furthermore, it was announced that – subject to successful testing with market participants in August 2012 –  the CZ-SK-HU Market Coupling is planned to go live in the beginning of September 2012.

After the launch, the electricity markets of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will be coupled increasing market depth and liquidity and facilitating cross-border integration as a step towards the Internal European Market by 2014.
